Josh C. Wright (b.1993, High Wycombe) is a sculptor living and working in Margate.

His sculptures are inherently precarious, their forms lean, buckle and strain against their own weight, holding a moment of tension between construction and collapse. Their impermanence mirrors the instability of the built environment, where rapid urbanisation, gentrification, and ecological degradation constantly reshape the landscape. Living and working in a place shaped by shifting tides, economic reinvention, and architectural remnants of the past, he is attuned to the way spaces evolve, decay, and are repurposed over time.

In 2025 Josh was awarded the Cass Art Prize’s Emerging Artist Award. Whilst in 2021, received an Arts Council England DYCP award which enabled a period of research into the relationship between anxiety and sculpture.

Recent exhibitions include CAR MEET, Dreamland Car Park, Margate (2026), CASS Art Prize, Copeland Gallery, London (2025), POST//FUTURE curated by Delphian Gallery, Saatchi Gallery, London (2025) and A Handful of Dust, dARTS, London (2024).
