Elizaveta Zalieva (b. 1995, Russia) is an artist whose work explores how the ordinary transforms into the mythic. At its core lies an exploration of distance and closeness, narration and history. Shaped by artistic and humanistic research, she is interested in how everyday images and objects can transcend their surface to reveal deeper layers of meaning.

Influenced by the visual languages of medieval and antique art, she engages with their symbolic systems, sacred narratives and material sensibilities. Documentation of reality plays a crucial role: she collects and preserves fragments of memory, letting them become vessels of meaning. Each work exists as a dialogue between the visible and the unsaid.

In her visual language, she seeks a balance between figuration and abstraction, negotiating presence and absence. Working across painting, textile installation and video, her work traces the hidden symbols of modern culture and the ways magic speaks through everyday images and objects.
