Painted from life, Brogan Bertie’s portraits in NO MOON TONIGHT (Just the light from other people’s windows) are full of fast brushstrokes, flicking paint, an urgency that reveals a painfully human desperation to capture a moment where every mark made measures the moment passing.
Family, loved ones and acquaintances make up this show, exposing the same truth: Bertie’s desperation for connection, alongside a deep hunger for and investment in people—something beautiful, insatiable, and obsessive.
