About TEARS
The Tracey Emin Artist Residency (TEAR) is a free, 15 month, studio based programme for painters at TKE Studios in Margate. It supports the development of sustained studio work within a community of working artists, combining projects, critique and professional insight. The programme runs at a level comparable to postgraduate study but carries no formal qualification. Each cohort is limited to nine artists selected through an open application process.
TEAR runs for 15 months at TKE Studios in Margate. The programme is free and studio space is provided, but artists cover their own living costs. Applicants must be able to live and work in the UK for the full duration.
